The Female Athlete: Performance & Pelvic Health

THE FEMALE ATHLETE: PERFORMANCE & PELVIC HEALTH

What does it take to train well, perform at your best and protect your long-term health as a female athlete?

Join us at Melbourne CBD Physiotherapy & Sports Medicine Clinic for an educational evening on the key areas of female athlete health. Senior Physiotherapist and Pelvic Floor Physiotherapist Holly Pointon will explain how your body works and why it matters for your training.

What we’ll cover:

  • Pelvic floor function: how the pelvic floor supports running, lifting and high-impact sport, and why leaking, heaviness or pain aren’t something you just have to put up with
  • Menstrual health: what your cycle can tell you about your health, energy and training
  • Bone health: understanding bone stress injuries, who is at risk and how to protect your bones for the long term
  • Performance: how all of these areas connect, and practical strategies to help you train consistently and recover well

The evening is for female athletes of all levels, from weekend runners to competitive players, and for the coaches, parents and support staff who work with them. You’ll leave with clear, practical advice you can start using in your training straight away.
