University & Research

At Melbourne CBD Physiotherapy & Sports Medicine Clinic, research sits at the centre of how we practise. Our physiotherapists and sports medicine physicians don’t just consult with patients — they lead and publish clinical research, teach in postgraduate university programs, and hold active research positions with La Trobe University and The University of Melbourne.

This work spans injury and sports performance alike: tendon injury, ACL rehabilitation and return-to-sport testing, and the validation of force- and speed-based testing technologies used to profile and develop athletes. It flows directly back into what we do in the clinic — from rehabilitation programs to strength, running and performance assessments — so the methods we use reflect the most current evidence, often before it reaches wider practice.

Clinical research also depends on willing participants, and being part of a study is often a rewarding way to contribute to better care and performance outcomes for others. If you’d like to be involved in a current trial — as a patient, athlete or practitioner — we’d love to hear from you.

Current Research: One of our clinicians is recruiting physiotherapists for a tendon research study. Register your interest via the form on this page.
