This course was specifically developed to address the gap in courses offered connecting the clinical and non-clinical skills desired by early to mid-career physiotherapists building a long and fulfilling career in private practice physiotherapy. The course will teach you the essential skills to being a better clinician and a valuable asset to your clinic! In addition, you will significantly improve your clinical reasoning, hands on skills and exercise prescription for various private practice injuries.

Developed by Mr. Antony Hirst, Dr. Tim Sayer and Mr. Nicholas Cross the three presenters have a wealth of experience running highly successful physiotherapy businesses and managing a varied caseload of private practice patients. Itinerary Day 1:

  • 8-8.30am: Introduction, aims and objectives presented by (Antony Hirst)
  • 8.30-9.15am: Employer expectations in private sector presented by (Antony Hirst)
  • 9.15-9.30am: How patients judge us presented by (Antony Hirst)
  • 9.30-10.30am: Communication and rapport presented by (Antony Hirst)
  • 10.30am-10.45am: Morning Tea Break
  • 10.45am-12.45pm: Assessment and treatment of the hip and pelvis presented by (Nick Cross/Tim Sayer)
  • 12.45pm-1.15pm: Lunch
  • 1.15pm-3.15pm: Assessment and treatment of the foot and ankle presented by (Nick Cross/Tim Sayer)
  • 3.15-3.30pm: Afternoon break
  • 3.30-5pm: Assessment and treatment of the neck and shoulder presented by (Nick Cross/Tim Sayer)
